After a summer of traveling from event to event through Saskatoon and surrounding area, the Pink Playhouse was raffled off as a fundraiser as part of the 2013 Pink House Campaign. The draw was made on September 30, 2013 by Ryan Gay of Campbell Custom Homes and John Barton, Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation board member.
The lucky winner of the Pink Playhouse Raffle was Nadine Melenchuk. Nadine purchased her ticket at Saskatoon’s OutGROW OutPLAY Children’s Consignment Sale Event. Nadine has two young daughters, Addison (2) and Dessirae (6 months), who will no doubt enjoy the Pink Playhouse in the years ahead!
The 10’ x 10’ Playhouse was finished with white siding and has pink shutters, flower boxes, and front porch railing. The wooden Dutch door has a knocker and is just the right size for kids. The inside, complete with stairs and loft, remains entirely pink since it was constructed out of PinkWood – a fire, rot, and mould resistant wood.
The Playhouse is now permanently located in the Melenchuk’s backyard approximately 45 kms outside of Saskatoon in Delisle, Saskatchewan. Since this is no ordinary Playhouse it took some navigating of trees and power lines in order to situate it in its new location.
Congratulations Nadine and family! We wish you and your daughters many days of fun in the days to come!
